Important:
Support for the old OneDrive for Business sync app with SharePoint Online has ended. If you see this icon in your taskbar, read this article to learn more.
Problem
This article contains information that applies when you use the OneDrive sync client (groove.exe).
Note To determine which OneDrive sync client you're using, see Which OneDrive sync client am I using?
Consider the following scenario:
-
You synchronize a SharePoint in Microsoft 365 library by using OneDrive sync client.
-
You drag a local folder that contains more than 100 files into the folder that's configured to synchronize with SharePoint.
In this scenario, you experience one or more of the following symptoms:
-
The folder remains in a synchronizing state, and some files aren't uploaded after a reasonable period of time.
-
You experience synchronization errors after you make additional changes to the affected files or folder.
Solution
To resolve this issue, upload folders that contain files in batches of 100 files or fewer.
More information
This issue may occur when you upload many files to a folder to SharePoint.
For more information, go to the following Microsoft websites:
NOTE: When you remain within the 100-file limit, you'll experience better performance by using OneDrive to upload many files than by using the SharePoint upload function.
