Some videos contain multiple files for things like closed captions or subtitles. If you insert a video into PowerPoint and the video container has closed captions, PowerPoint's media player may or may not support playback of closed captions depending on their file format and which version of PowerPoint you're using.
In the table below, you can find the supported file formats for closed captions in PowerPoint. File format support is based on which file formats the operating system can decode and/or parse. The information in the table is not exhaustive and is subject to change.
