Delete a shape

Select the shape, and press DELETE.

If you want to delete multiple shapes, select the first shape, press and hold Ctrl while you select the other shapes, and then press DELETE.

Notes:

  • If you delete a connected shape, Visio also removes the connectors associated to the shape. For more information on working with connectors, see the See Also section in this topic.

  • Some shapes and layers may be locked so that they cannot be deleted. You will need to unlock them first. For information on unlocking shapes, see Prevent or allow changes to shapes. For information on unlocking layers, see Lock or unlock a layer.

  • To delete a master shape from your Favorites stencil or from another custom stencil you have previously created, right-click the master shape that you want to delete, and then click Delete Master. To save your changes, click the Save Stencil icon in the stencil title bar.
