Hide or display the Paste Options button

When you paste content from one location to another, Word displays a button that lets you choose different pasting options, such as keeping source formatting.

If you don't want to see this button, you can turn the option off.

  1. On the Word menu, click Preferences.

  2. Under Authoring and Proofing Tools, click Edit  Word edit preferences button .

  3. Under Cut and paste options, clear or select the Show Paste Options buttons check box.

Tip: To dismiss the button without hiding it permanently, press ESC or start typing.
