UML Models dialog box

On the UML menu, click Models, or right-click the system model in the tree view and click Models to create, edit, or delete UML models.

Models

Lists the current models in the UML system.

To quickly edit the most commonly used settings for a model, click a field in the Models list, and then select or type a value.

To access all of the settings for a model, select the model in the list, and then click Properties.

  • Model  Double-click this field to edit an existing model name. Click New to add a new model.

  • Stereotype  Choose the stereotype you want from the drop-down list. If a stereotype you want to use isn't listed, you can add a new stereotype or edit an existing one by clicking Stereotypes on the UML menu.

  • IsRoot  Select to indicate that the model can't have ancestors.

  • IsLeaf  Select to indicate that the model can't have descendants.

  • IsAbstract  Select to indicate that the model is abstract and that no instances can be created for the class.

New

Click to add an undefined model to the list of models in the system. An icon representing the new model is added to the tree view in the Model Explorer.

To access all of the settings for a model, select the model in the list, and then click Properties.

Properties

After you select a model in the Models list, click to display three categories where you can edit the property values associated with the model: Model, Constraints, and Tagged Values.

Delete

Click to delete the model selected under Models. When you click Delete, the icon representing the model is removed from the tree view in the Model Explorer.
