Check for Errors in your Business Contact Manager database

Check for Errors in your Business Contact Manager database

To improve the efficiency of your Business Contact Manager database , we recommend that you occasionally check for errors. This process also defragments your database.

Caution:  If your database is shared, you should ask all of its users to exit Outlook before checking the database for errors. This prevents issues when this process is running.

  1. Click the File tab.

  2. Click the Business Contact Manager tab, and then click the Manage Databases button.

  3. Click Check for Errors.

  4. In the Check for Errors dialog box, click Start.

This process defragments the database and checks for errors. The Details pane displays the findings of the scan.

  5. When the process finishes, click Close.

Tip:  If you receive an error message that says some of your data could not be moved, your database may still be fully functional. For optimal performance, defragment your database again.
