LOG10 function
This article describes the formula syntax and usage of the LOG10 function in Microsoft Excel.
Description
Returns the base-10 logarithm of a number.
Syntax
LOG10(number)
The LOG10 function syntax has the following arguments:

Number Required. The positive real number for which you want the base-10 logarithm.
Example
Copy the example data in the following table, and paste it in cell A1 of a new Excel worksheet. For formulas to show results, select them, press F2, and then press Enter. If you need to, you can adjust the column widths to see all the data.

=LOG10(86) | Base 10 logarithm of 86. The result, 1.9345, is the power to raise the base, 10, to equal 86. | 1.9345 |
=LOG10(10) | Base 10 logarithm of 10. This is the power 10 is raised to to equal 10. | 1 |
=LOG10(100000) | Base 10 logarithm of 1E+5. This is the power 10 is raised to to equal 100000 (1E+5). | 5 |
=LOG10(10^5) | Base 10 logarithm of 10^5. Same as above; 1E+5 = 100000. | 5 |
