Use an external keyboard with Word for Android

Using an external keyboard with your Android allows you to take advantage of the keyboard shortcuts you are familiar with if you use Word on a Windows computer.

The shortcuts listed in this article are the only ones that work in this version of Word.

Editing and formatting the document

To	Press
Undo the last action	CONTROL + Z
Repeat the last action	CONTROL + Y
Cut selected content	CONTROL + X
Copy selected content	CONTROL + C
Paste copied or cut content	CONTROL + V
Select all	CONTROL + A
Bold selected content	CONTROL + B
Italicize selected content	CONTROL + I
Underline selected content	CONTROL + U

Navigating the document

To	Press
Select text	SHIFT + LEFT/RIGHT ARROW or SHIFT + UP/DOWN ARROW
Move cursor up by one paragraph	OPTION + UP ARROW
Move cursor down by one paragraph	OPTION + DOWN ARROW
Move cursor right by one word	OPTION + RIGHT ARROW
Move cursor left by one word	OPTION + LEFT ARROW
Move cursor to beginning of the document	CONTROL + UP ARROW
Move cursor to end of the document	CONTROL + DOWN ARROW
Move cursor to the beginning of the current line	CONTROL + LEFT ARROW
Move cursor to the end of the current line	CONTROL + RIGHT ARROW
Select paragraph above	SHIFT + OPTION + UP ARROW
