Advanced dialog box
Use this dialog box to specify criteria that shapes must meet to be included in the property report. For example, if all of the computers in an office layout are on a layer named "Computer," you can include only the shapes on that layer by using the following criterion:
<Layer Name> = Computer
You can combine multiple criteria, which are joined by an AND operator, into a selection expression.
Property
Specifies a property to include in a criterion. Properties include shape data, layer names, user-defined ShapeSheet cells, and Autodiscovery shapes. For example, to find all people in an organization chart who belong to a particular department, choose Department from the Property list and specify a department name in the Value box.
Condition
Specifies a restriction or qualification that the property must meet. For example, to find all organization chart shapes for a particular department, choose Department in the Property list and then click = in the Condition list.
The available conditions vary depending on the selected property.
Condition | Action | Used for |
> | Greater than | Properties where the type is number |
< | Less than | Properties where the type is number |
>= | Greater than or equal to | Properties where the type is number |
<= | Less than or equal to | Properties where the type is number |
= | Equal to | Properties that are of any type |
<> | Not equal to | Properties that are of any type |
Exists | Indicates that the property exists | Shape data, user-defined cells, the <Autodiscovery Shape> property, and the <Displayed Text> property |
Value
Specifies a value that completes the condition, such as text or a number. For example, to find all organization chart shapes in the Finance department, click Department in the Property list, click = in the Condition list, and then type Finance in the Value box.
The value you can specify depends on the selected property and condition. For example, if the condition is Exists, the only values you can select are TRUE and FALSE. If you select shape data that has a type of Date, you must provide a valid date using the format specified for the property.
Defined criteria
Lists the criteria that are included in the selection expression.
Add
Adds the criterion you have specified in the Property, Condition, and Value boxes to the Defined criteria list.
Delete
Removes the criteria selected in the Defined criteria list from the selection expression.
Clear
Deletes all criteria in the Defined criteria list from the selection expression.
Case sensitive
Indicates that the criteria are case-sensitive.
