Rename a project in Project 2007

You can rename a project that is saved on your local computer, or you can rename a project that is saved on Microsoft Office Project Server 2007.

Rename a local project

  1. Click Open Button image .

  2. In the Look in list, select the drive or folder that contains the project that you want to rename.

  3. In the folder list, locate and open the folder that contains the project that you want to rename.

  4. Right-click the project that you want to rename, and then click Rename on the shortcut menu.

    Note: You cannot rename a project that is currently open.

  5. Type the new project name, and then press ENTER.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • Click Open to open the project.

    • Click Cancel to close the dialog box.

Rename a project saved on the server (Project Professional only)

  1. Click Open Button image .

  2. In the Look in list, select Enterprise Projects.

  3. Double-click Retrieve the list of all projects from Project Server.

  4. Right-click the project that you want to rename, and then click Rename on the shortcut menu.

  5. Type the new project name, and then press ENTER.

    Note: You cannot rename a project that is currently open.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • Click Open to open the project.

    • Click Cancel to close the dialog box.
