Mediation Server: Next Hop Connections

Mediation Server: Next Hop Connections

Use the Next Hop Connections tab to configure Mediation Server connections to the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 next-hop server and a public switched telephone network (PSTN) gateway.

Note: Any changes to the settings on this tab do not take effect until you restart the Office Communications Server Mediation Server.

Office Communications Server next hop

Specify the Director or pool to which this Mediation Server forwards inbound calls that are passed to it by the PSTN gateway.

FQDN

In the drop-down list box, click the next hop server for the pool that is to use this Mediation Server.

Port

To specify a different port number for the Mediation Server to use to communicate with internal Office Communications Server 2007 servers over a Transport Layer Security (TLS) connection, type the port number. The default is 5061.

PSTN gateway next hop

Specify the PSTN gateway to be used to relay calls between the Enterprise Voice infrastructure and the PSTN. The gateway that you specify here is the one to which this Mediation Server is connected.

In the drop-down list box, click TLS if the SIP signaling between the IP Gateway and the Mediation Server is protected by TLS. If you are not using TLS, click TCP.

Encryption level

In the drop-down list box, click the level of Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) that you want to use to protect media traffic:

  • If you do not want to use SRTP, click Do not support encryption.

Note: If you clicked TCP in the Transport box, this is the only option that is available.

  • To specify that SRTP must be used, click Require Encryption.

  • To specify that SRTP should be attempted but no encryption should be used if negotiation for SRTP is not successful, click Support encryption.
