Watch this video to learn how to open Dropbox files in Office for iPad.

Key points in this video

Tap Open > Add a place, and then make sure to sign in with the email address and password you use for Dropbox. It may be different than your Microsoft account or your AppleID.
If you can't remember your password, go to Dropbox.com and see if you can retrieve it using the "Forgot your password?" link.
You can sign in and open your OneDrive files. Tap Open > Add a place, and then sign in with your Microsoft account.
You can sign in and open your OneDrive for Business files and SharePoint files. Tap Open > Add a place, and then sign in with your work account.

With Office for iPad, you can open your Dropbox files and edit them. Let me show you how.

I'll use Word, but keep in mind it works the same way in Excel and PowerPoint too.

First I tap Open. Then I tap: Add a place. I tap Dropbox, and then I log in.

I'll make sure to use the email address and password that I've been using for Dropbox.

Ok, so that's done. Now I can open files. I'll tap a file, and Word downloads the file to my iPad and opens it.

Now I can start making changes.

By default, Office for iPad uses AutoSave. So as long as I'm connected to the internet, my changes will get saved up to Dropbox for me.
