Embedded media in earlier versions of PowerPoint
In PowerPoint 2011, you can embed audio or movies in your PowerPoint presentation. You can save the presentation in an Open XML Format, such as .pptx, so that you can play the audio or movies in the latest versions of PowerPoint.
The following table describes what you can do with embedded audio or movies when certain file formats are opened in specific versions of PowerPoint:
