Change the default duration type

In Project 2010, the default task duration unit is days, but you can change it to be minutes, hours, weeks, or months:

1. Click the File tab, and then click Options.

2. In the Project Options dialog box, click Schedule.

3. Under Scheduling options in this project, in the Duration is entered in list, select a duration unit.

4. To use the same setting automatically in all future projects, select All New Projects in the Scheduling options in this project list.
