Change the direction of text in a placeholder

When you want your text to display vertically (letters stacked one on top of the other), horizontally, or rotated facing the right margin or the left margin, use the Text Direction commands.

1. Select the text that you want to rotate or stack.

2. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click Text Direction, and then click the direction that you want your text to take.

   

Note: If you want only some of the text in an existing placeholder to rotate or stack, you can add a placeholder to a layout to contain the rotated text and keep it separate from the horizontal text.
