Data source prerequisites (Power Query)

Use Excel's Get & Transform (Power Query) experience to connect to various data sources. For each provider, Power Query supports a specific provider version and objects. For guidance on importing data from various sources, see Import data from external data sources.

1. Excel files that have an .xlsx extension do not require a separate provider installation.

2. The Oracle providers also require Oracle client software (version 8.1.7+).
