Learning tools for onenote getting started and frequently asked questions

Thanks for downloading the Learning Tools for OneNote! This readme will guide you through installing and using the software and provides instructions on troubleshooting any problems you may encounter. In the video below, Doug gives you a quick overview of what Learning Tools can do for you.

5. Updating to a newer version

5.1 Summary

When a new version becomes available, a new Update button appears on the Ribbon.

5.2 Update Button

When a new version becomes available, a new button appears on the Ribbon. Clicking the Update button opens your default browser and downloads the installer for the newer version of Learning Tools. You can also choose to go to https://www.onenote.com/learningtools/ and download the new version.

5.3 Running the new setup

Close OneNote, go to the download location, and run the new setup.

After the install finishes, run OneNote again and you should see the Learning Tools tab in the ribbon. If the tab is not there, see the Installation section above for steps to fix the issue.

5.4 Checking your current updated version

After a successful update, the update button in the ribbon should disappear. Also, under Learning Tools > Settings > About, you should be able to see the current install version of Learning Tools. Also, you can go to the Programs and Features control panel. Look for Learning Tools for OneNote. The version column will show the version number.
