Where are my captures?

Where are my captures?

Content captured into OneNote is sent to a standard section in your main notebook, which you can see in the Location field when you're capturing something. Each capture creates a new page so if you have a lot of pages in the section, you'll have to scroll down to see the new capture.

Can I change the location where my captures are sent?

Yes. If you capture content with Clipper or Office Lens, you have the option of changing the location where your captures are sent. To do this, expand the drop-down list and choose the notebook and section you'd like to clip to.

Choose where to saved captured images.

The next time you clip something, Clipper will remember the section you chose last time and will clip to the same location. You can change the location anytime, and you can copy or move captures to a difference notebook or section later as well.

Can I search for content I've captured?

Yes. You can search for any printed text in the capture (including images) or for words that might be in the page title of the capture. In OneNote, enter keywords in the search field or tap the Search icon to start your search (if you're using OneNote on a Windows PC, Ctrl+E is a quick way to display the search field and search across all your notebooks).
