Problem opening files or folders with hyperlinks [FIXED]

ISSUE
When you click a hyperlink to open a file or folder, it may not open a Finder window to show the folder or it may not open the linked file.
STATUS: FIXED
This issue has been fixed in version 16.11.0 or higher. To get the latest update, open Excel for Mac, go to the Help > Check for Updates menu, and follow the instructions in the AutoUpdate app. For the most recent information on this issue, go to Problem opening files or folders via hyperlinks in Excel 2016 for Mac.
"Variable uses an Automation type not supported" error in Visual Basic [WORKAROUND]

ISSUE
In Excel for Mac, a new Visual Basic editor was introduced in October 2017. With this new VB editor, there's an issue with creating object declarations by choosing from the drop-down menu at the top of the code window resulting in an error: "Variable uses an Automation type not supported in Visual Basic".
STATUS: WORKAROUND

Can't export a SharePoint list to Excel for Mac [WORKAROUND]

ISSUE
When you click "Export to Excel" to export a SharePoint list on a Mac, it doesn't open the file in Excel for Mac and instead downloads the query.iqy file. This is working as expected as the internet query connection is not supported by Excel for Mac.
STATUS: WORKAROUND
If you have Excel for Windows, you can save the file as XLSX and then open it in Excel for Mac. You'll be able to see the data but you won't be able to refresh the data connection.
Text in worksheet is displayed backwards or upside-down

ISSUE
We are aware of an issue affecting Excel 2016 for Mac users. Problems are reported rendering Excel worksheets, causing text to display as backwards or upside-down.
STATUS: WORKAROUND
This occurs on a Mac with macOS High Sierra beta and Excel 2016 for Mac Insider's Fast update. This should be resolved when the next Insider's Fast update is released.
As a workaround, you can uninstall the Excel 2016 for Mac Insider Fast version and install the production version of Excel on your Mac.
