My Outlook Data File (.pst) password doesn’t work

My Outlook Data File (.pst) password doesn't work

If you have a password protected Outlook Data File (.pst) and did not select the Save this password in your password list check box, when opening the file you are prompted for the password.

If the password you type in the Password box is incorrect, you get the following error message: The password you have typed is incorrect. Retype the password.

Passwords are case-sensitive. Try to remember whether the password that you assigned used uppercase and lowercase letters. Accidentally turning on CAPS LOCK is a common reason why a password attempt fails.

Important:  Passwords cannot be reset or recovered if lost. If you forget your password, Microsoft cannot retrieve it.
