Let's go over customizing the calendar view options.
I showed you in the last video how you can use the zoom slider on the bottom right-hand side of the screen to make the time slots bigger or smaller.
You can also gain some screen real estate by minimizing the folder pane.
I can click the arrow to the right of the date picker to minimize the folder pane.
It's going to make my calendar much bigger and fill the screen.
At any time, I can bring this date picker back by clicking the arrow to expand it.
I can then click the push pin to keep it there.
From the Home ribbon tab, I can choose how my calendar is arranged.
It defaults to Week view, meaning I can see Sunday through Saturday.
However I can change it.
I can put it on Work Week view, which will show me Monday through Friday, Day view, which gives me an overview of the current day, Month view, which shows me my entire month, and finally, Schedule view.
I'm going to put it back on Work Week view.
While in any of these views, I can scroll on the right-hand side to see more or less of the schedule.
I can also change the date, and the Work Week view will change accordingly.
I can click today at any time to go back to the current day.
Let's change to the View ribbon tab. In addition to changing how the days are arranged, I can also set the timescale for my calendar.
It defaults to showing me 30 minute time blocks, but I can change this.
I can see 60 minute time blocks, which gives me less space for detail, or 15 minutes of time blocks.
This gives me the most space for detail.
However, it also makes me have to scroll my calendar to see the entire day.
I can change the color of the calendar by selecting Color, and choosing a new color.
I can also choose the layout. For example if I want to see my daily task list at the bottom of the calendar, I can select Normal. I'll show you how to create tasks in a future video.
However, any e-mail or contact followup items you have will be selected here, especially if you put a reminder on them.
I'll set this to Off for now. The last thing I want to do is set the weather.
I can click on the down arrow next to Washington, DC, and I'll click Add Location.
I'll put in my zip code, click the magnifying glass.
The town will come up, and I'll get today's weather.
