Data source settings (Power Query)

Power Query saves a data source credential, or sign in identity, for each data source connection you have used and data source privacy levels. For more information about privacy levels, see Privacy levels.

Manage data source credentials

  1. In the Power Query ribbon, in Settings, select Data Source Settings.

  2. In the Data Source Settings dialog box, select a data source and select Edit.

  3. In the new Data Source Settings dialog that appears, under Credentials, select Edit.

  4. Select the credential type from the options on the left, and if necessary, provide the Username and Password (or other appropriate information) for the data connection.

Manage Privacy Levels

  1. In the Power Query ribbon, in Settings, select Data Source Settings.

  2. In the Data Source Settings dialog box, select a data source and select Edit.

  3. In the new Data Source Settings dialog that appears, under Privacy Level, select the down-arrow and select the appropriate privacy level for the data source:

    • None

    • Public

    • Organizational

    • Private
