Open an instant message

Just as you can start an instant message conversation with other people, they can start one with you.

To open an instant messag e

When you receive an alert for an incoming instant message, the alert displays the sender's name and the first few words of the message. Do one of the following:

• Click Show to open a conversation window and view the entire message.

• Click Dismiss to close the alert.

• Do nothing until the alert disappears.

If you do not immediately view an incoming message, you can click Current Conversations in your Contacts list to view the message later.
