Legend options

Use the Format Legend dialog box to make formatting changes to the legend entries in your chart.

Select a legend position

Top     Places the legend above the plot area of the chart.

Bottom     Places the legend below the plot area of the chart.

Left     Places the legend to the left of the plot area.

Right     Places the legend to the right of the plot area.

Top Right     Places the legend in the top right corner of the chart area.

Show the legend without overlapping the chart     Selected by default, this option ensures that the legend does not overlap the chart. It does this by adjusting the plot area so that there is enough space to accommodate the legend. When you clear this check box, the legend may overlap the chart, and you may have to manually adjust the plot area or move the legend to another location in the chart if you don't want the legend to overlap the chart.
