Flag an item without associating a date

Flag an item without associating a date

Note: This article has done its job, and will be retiring soon. To prevent "Page not found" woes, we're removing links we know about. If you've created links to this page, please remove them, and together we'll keep the web connected.

You can add a flag to a message or a contact without associating a date or time with the flag. When you do so, the item displays the flag in table views such as your Inbox or Phone List. In the open item, you see Follow Up in the InfoBar, but there won't be any time or date information. Items flagged with no date also appear in your To-Do Bar, in the No Date section.

If you frequently assign flags with no date, you can set your Quick Click flag to No Date and then flag the items with a single click.

Set my Quick Click flag to No Date

When you click the Flag Status column next to an item, you assign the Quick Click flag to it. By default, the Quick Click flag is set to Today, but you can change the default to No Date. Then, with just a single click in your Inbox or other table view, you can assign a flag with no date associated to a message or contact.

First change the default flag to No Date. Then you can assign that flag to messages and contacts. The flag appears in the Flag Status column and also in the item itself.

Set the Quick Click flag

  1. On the toolbar, click Follow Up Button image , and then click Set Quick Click Flag.

  2. In the Set Quick Click dialog box, select a flag from the list.

Note: If you change the Quick Click flag, previously flagged items are not changed.

Assign a Quick Click flag to a message

  • In your Inbox, click the Flag Status column next to a message. This adds the flag that you selected as your Quick Click flag to the column.

Note: You can assign a Quick Click flag to multiple messages at the same time. Select the messages, and then click the Flag Status column next to one of the messages.

Assign a Quick Click flag to a contact

  • In Contacts, in a table view such as By Follow Up Flag, click the Flag Status column next to a contact. This adds the flag that you selected as your Quick Click flag to the column.

Note: You can assign a Quick Click flag to multiple contacts at the same time. Select the contacts, and then click the Flag Status column next to one of the contacts.
