Add a constraint to a UML element

Add a constraint to a UML element

  1. Double-click the icon in the tree view or the shape in the diagram representing the element you want to add constraints to.

  2. Click Constraints and then click New. Type or choose the constraint properties you want.

  3. To specify additional constraint properties, click Properties. Type or choose the constraint properties you want.

  4. Click OK.

Tip: You can also use the Constraint shape to add a constraint to a diagram, especially when the constraint applies to several elements. Drag the Constraint shape from the Static Structure stencil onto the drawing page, and then double-click the shape. Type or choose the properties you want, and then click OK. (The description you type under Body appears on the shape.) Glue the control handle Control handle image - yellow diamond in the center of the Constraint shape to a connection point Connection point image - blue X on the shape that the constraint applies to.
