Learn how to present a PowerPoint deck in a Skype for Business meeting and how to annotate that file in real time--during your meeting.
The following procedures describe how to perform tasks on a computer running Windows. To see instructions for other devices, see Specific "how to" instructions for your device.
To present a PowerPoint deck in a Skype for Business meeting, on your PC

From the Skype for Business meeting window, click the Present button , then choose Present PowerPoint Files.

Navigate to the PowerPoint file you want to share and click Open.
To view your notes (only you will see them)

While your PowerPoint deck is being shared, click NOTES in the lower right of the Skype for Business meeting window to reveal your presenter notes.
To advance through the deck

To advance to the next slide:

Put your cursor in the meeting window stage area and left mouse click.

Click the right arrow just above the Video Call, Mute My Mic, Present, and Hang Up buttons.

Click the right arrow on your keyboard.

To go to the previous slide:

Click the left arrow just above the Video Call, Mute My Mic, Present, and Hang Up buttons, or
-
Click the left arrow on your keyboard.

To annotate a PowerPoint slide in real time during a Skype for Business meeting

While your PowerPoint deck is being shared, click the Annotations tool in the upper right side of the PowerPoint slide to reveal the tools.

Click the Pen drop-down, then choose a pen color.

The cursor changes to a small black square and you can draw on that slide. Meeting attendees will see what you draw in real time.
Note: Be sure to check out the other Annotation tool options--like the highlighter, the stamp tool, and the shape tool. You can even insert a picture or send the annotated image to OneNote (see the More Options ellipsis).
Specific "how to" instructions for your device
Android phone and tablet
You cannot present or annotate a PowerPoint deck from Skype for Business for Android.
iPhone and iPad
You cannot present or annotate a PowerPoint deck from Skype for Business for iOS.
Windows Phone
You cannot present or annotate a PowerPoint deck from Skype for Business for Windows Phone.
Mac
Skype for Business is not available on Mac OS X devices.
Office Online (browser on all devices)
To present a PowerPoint deck in a Skype for Business meeting

From the Skype for Business meeting window, click the Present button , then choose Present PowerPoint Files.

Navigate to the PowerPoint file you want to share and click OK.

With Skype for Business, the Share PowerPoint feature lets you use annotation tools and presenter notes, and even lets other attendees control their own view of the slides.
I already have the deck open, so I'll click the Present button, then I'll click Present PowerPoint Files.
I definitely want to be able to see my notes, so I'll click Notes.
I can advance the slides by clicking the arrows.
"Ok, let's get started."
"The Comm budget is probably too high.
Let's review these numbers again before the presentation."
"Otherwise, this slide looks good."
