Manage the Product and Service Items List in Business Contact Manager
The Items list contains all details of your products or services that you have stored in Business Contact Manager for Outlook. You can import a list of product and service items, add product and service items manually, or edit or delete product and service items.
To manage the Product and Service Items List, do one or more of the following:
Import an item list

On the Business Contact Manager menu, click Product and Service Items List.

In the Product and Service Items List dialog box, click Import, and then follow the instructions in the Import Product and Service Items wizard.
Note: The list that you import must be in the .csv file format. For more information about importing an item list, see Import a list of product or service items into Business Contact Manager.
To get assistance while completing a page in the wizard, click Help on that page.
Add an item manually

On the Business Contact Manager menu, click Product and Service Items List.

In the Product and Service Items List dialog box, click Add.

In the Add or Edit Item dialog box, type the Item Name, Description, Unit Price, and Default Quantity, and then click OK.

Click OK to close the Add or Edit Item dialog box, or click Add to add another item.
Note: If Business Contact Manager for Outlook is integrated with your accounting system, new items that are added using this form are not integrated into the Items list in your accounting system. Product and service items from the Items list in your accounting system are integrated into the Product and Service Items List in Business Contact Manager for Outlook. For information about how to integrate Business Contact Manager for Outlook with your accounting system, see Help in your accounting system.
Edit an item

On the Business Contact Manager menu, click Product and Service Items List.

In the Product and Service Items List dialog box, click the item, and then click Edit.

In the Add or Edit Item dialog box, edit the Item Name, Description, Unit Price, or Default Quantity, and then click OK.

Click OK to close the Add or Edit Item dialog box, or click another item in the list, and then click Edit to edit it.
Notes:
-
The Edit button is available if the item is found only in Business Contact Manager for Outlook. If Business Contact Manager for Outlook and your accounting system are integrated, items in the list can be found in your accounting system and Business Contact Manager for Outlook. The items from your accounting system cannot be edited in Business Contact Manager for Outlook.

The Description, Unit cost, and Unit Price fields are not editable for items that come from your accounting system.

Delete an item

On the Business Contact Manager menu, click Product and Service Items List.

In the Product and Service Items List dialog box, click an item in the list, and then click Delete.

In the Delete dialog box, click Yes to delete the item.

Click OK to close the Product and Service Items List dialog box, or click another item in the list, and then click Delete to delete it.
Export the Product and Service Items List
Note: You can only export the Product and Service Items List along with Account or Business Contact records in the .bcm file format. You can open the exported .bcm file using Notepad, or any .xml file viewer. The Product and Service Items List cannot be exported into the .csv file format. For more information about how export business data, see Import a list of product or service items into Business Contact Manager.

On the Business Contact Manager menu, point to Database Tools, and then click Import and Export.

In the Business Data Import and Export wizard, click Export a file.

On the Select the type of file to export to page, Business Contact Manager data (.bcm) is selected by default. Click Next.

On the Select the data you would like to export page, click one of the following options:

Export Everything.

Select specific records and the other options that you want.

Click Next.

On the File to export page, do the following:

Type the path and filename.

Under Export History, click one of the options.

Under Export Products, click Yes.

Click Next, and then complete the wizard.

Open the exported file, and then search for ProductID to find products or services.
Note: If Business Contact Manager for Outlook is integrated with your accounting system, items from your accounting system are also included in the Product and Service Items List in Business Contact Manager for Outlook. Items from your accounting system are not included in the exported file.
