View a site optimized for smartphones

When viewing a SharePoint site with a smartphone you have the option of viewing it in PC mode (full screen) or in a view designed specifically for smartphones. How that mobile view displays on your device depends on what type of device you are using. SharePoint includes a feature called the Mobile Browser View that checks if the mobile browser you're using can support HTML5. If it does, then a contemporary mobile view is shown. If it does not, then a classic view is shown.

  1. In the list or library where you want to create the alert, click the Library or List tab on the ribbon.

  3. On the New Alert page, in the Alert Title section, change the title for the alert if you want.

  4. In the Send Alerts To section, enter the user names or email address of the person to whom you want the alerts to be sent.

  5. In the Delivery Method section, choose if you want to be alerted by E-mail or Text Message (SMS).

  6. If the Change Type section is available, choose the types of changes that you want to be notified about.

  7. In the Send Alerts for These Changes section, specify whether you want to be alerted for all types of changes, or for specific changes.

  8. In the When to Send Alerts section, choose how frequently you want to receive the alerts, such as immediately or in a daily or weekly summary, and at what day or time.

  9. Click OK.
