Add text to a shape

As with a text box, you can use a shape as a container for text.

Do any of the following:

Add text to a shape

1. Click a shape to select it.

2. Type or paste your text into the shape.

Add text to a shape [compatibility mode]

Compatibility mode indicates that the document was created using an earlier version of Word or saved in an earlier file format.

1. Click a shape to select it.

2. Hold down CONTROL , click the shape, and then click Add Text.

3. Type or paste your text into the shape.
