Save as Web Page dialog box (Advanced tab)

Save as Web Page dialog box (Advanced tab)

Use this dialog box to specify output formats, target monitor resolution, style sheets, or host files for embedding the Web page.

Output formats

Output format list

Specifies the output format for the Web page: SVG, JPG, GIF, PNG, or VML.

Because SVG and VML are scalable graphics formats, when the browser window is resized, the Web page output resizes as well.

If you select a format such as VML or SVG that requires a relatively new browser, the Provide alternate format for older browsers check box is made available.

Provide alternate format for older browsers

Specifies an alternate format (GIF, JPG, or PNG) when the page is displayed in an older browser.

If this check box is selected, output formats that are supported by all browsers supported by Microsoft Office Visio are listed in the drop-down list. When users who have older browsers view the Web page, the selected alternate output format is used.

Note This option is selected by default. It is recommended that you keep this option selected to accommodate the widest range of Web browsers.

Display options

Target monitor

Specifies the size of the graphic created for the Web page based on the screen resolution of the monitor or device on which you expect the majority of your users to view the Web page. The graphic for the Web page is sized to fit the browser window for the target screen resolution.

Choose the monitor size that matches the smallest resolution for the systems on which you expect people will be viewing your Web pages. For example, you would specify a resolution of 180x260 for Web pages to be viewed on a Pocket PC.

Note This option is only available for GIF, JPG, and PNG formats. This setting is not required for SVG and VML because they are scalable.

Host in Web page

Specifies the Web page in which you want to embed the saved Visio Web page.

You will need to insert the following HTML tag in the host Web page to display the Visio Web page:

<IFRAME src="##VIS_SAW_FILE##">

Note The Host in Web page option for Visio Web pages works only with browsers that support the <IFRAME> tag (such as Windows Internet Explorer).

Style sheet

Specifies a style sheet with color scheme styles for the left frame and report pages in the Visio Web page file that match the color schemes available in Visio. If you are saving a drawing that has a particular color scheme applied to it, you can match that scheme by choosing a style sheet of the same name here.
