Use a screen reader to access sticky notes in onenote for mobile

Use OneNote for iOS with VoiceOver, the built-in iOS screen reader, to add and edit Sticky Notes in your OneNote notebook.

Sign into OneNote

Before you can add Sticky Notes in your OneNote notebook, you need to be signed in. To sign in manually:

  1. Swipe left until you hear "Open your account settings," and double-tap the screen.

  2. Swipe right until you hear "Sign in, button," and double-tap the screen.

  3. Enter your email address and password using the on-screen keyboard when required.

  4. Swipe right until you hear "Next," and double-tap the screen.

Navigate the Sticky Notes pane

  1. In the main view in OneNote for iOS, slide your finger around the bottom of the screen until you hear "Sticky Notes tab," and then double-tap the screen.

  2. To navigate the Sticky Notes pane, swipe left until you hear the element you want, and double-tap the screen to select it.

Add a Sticky Note

  1. In the Sticky Notes pane, swipe left or right until you hear "New note button," and then double-tap the screen.

  2. Enter the text of the note using the on-screen keyboard. When you are done, swipe left until you hear "Done button," and double-tap the screen to save the note.

  3. To return to the Sticky Notes pane, swipe left until you hear "Close button," and then double-tap the screen.

Edit a Sticky Note

In the More actions menu for a note, you can change the color the note appears in, share the note with other people, or delete the note.

  1. In the Sticky Notes pane, swipe left or right until you hear the note you want to edit, and then double-tap the screen.

  2. To edit the text of the note, swipe right until you hear the note contents, followed by "Text field," and then double-tap the screen. Use the on-screen keyboard to edit the note. When you are done, swipe left until you hear "Done button," and double-tap the screen to save your changes.

  3. To access the More actions menu, swipe left until you hear "More actions button," and then double-tap the screen.

  4. To change the note color, swipe right until you hear the color you want, and then double-tap the screen.

  5. To share a note, swipe right until you hear "Share note button," and then double-tap the screen. To select a sharing method, swipe right until you hear the method you want, and then double-tap the screen. Depending on the method you choose, you may need to input additional information, such as the email address you want to send your note to.

  6. To delete a note, swipe right until you hear "Delete note button," and then double-tap the screen. You hear: "Delete note?" Swipe right until you hear "Delete button," and double-tap the screen to delete the note.

Sign into OneNote

Before you can add Sticky Notes in your OneNote notebook, you need to be signed in. To sign in:

  1. Start OneNote for Android. You hear: "Enter your email, phone, or Skype name."

  2. Enter your email address, phone numbers or Skype name using the on-screen keyboard when required.

  3. Swipe right until you hear "Next button," and then double-tap the screen.

  4. Enter your password using the on-screen keyboard.

  5. Swipe right until you hear "Sign in," and then double-tap the screen.

In the Note options menu for a note, you can change the color the note appears in, share the note with other people, or delete the note.

  1. In the Sticky Notes pane, swipe left or right until you hear the note you want to edit, and then double-tap the screen.

  2. To edit the text of the note, swipe right until you hear the note contents, followed by "Edit box," and then double-tap the screen. Use the on-screen keyboard to edit the note.

  3. To access the Note options menu, swipe left until you hear "Notes options," and then double-tap the screen.
