Remove or delete a database in Business Contact Manager
When you use Business Contact Manager for Outlook, your business data is stored in a Business Contact Manager database that you associate with your Outlook profile. You must have at least one database but you may have others available to you. If you stop associating a database to your working profile, you can either re-associate the database, or you can associate it with another profile. However, if you delete the database, the database cannot be restored.
Important: If you remove the only database associated with a profile, you can no longer use Business Contact Manager for Outlook.
Remove a database from your profile without deleting it

Do one of the following:

Open Outlook by using a profile that is associated with a Business Contact Manager database.

Create a new profile and a new Business Contact Manager database, and then open Outlook by using the new profile.

On the File menu, click Data File Management.

In the Outlook Data Files dialog box, click the database you want to remove from this profile, and then click Remove.
Delete a database

On the Business Contact Manager menu, point to Database Tools, and then click Manage Database.

In the Manage Database dialog box, click the Other Databases tab.

Click the name of the database that you want to delete, and then click Delete Database.
Note: If there is only one database in the list, the Delete Database button will be unavailable. Only the database owner can delete that database.

If you are sharing your database and you remove it, the previous changes you made to your computer's firewall and the Microsoft SQL Server Native Client network protocols when you chose to share your databases will still be in effect. To restore your firewall and Microsoft SQL Server Native Client network protocols to their previous settings, you must first stop sharing each database, and then remove the databases.

This is one of the tools available to keep your Business Contact Manager databases working efficiently. To get to this screen, on the Business Contact Manager menu, point to Database Tools, and click Manage Database.
