Accessibility in Office 365 Video

Accessibility in Office 365 Video

Office 365 Video includes accessibility features that make it easier for people with disabilities to use the app. For example, people who are blind or have low vision can use screen readers to have information about the user interface (UI) read aloud to them. People who have limited mobility can use keyboard shortcuts or speech recognition tools instead of a mouse. Basic tasks in Office 365 video

Add effective titles and descriptions to videos in Office 365 Video

When you upload a video, Office 365 Video gives the video a title that is the same as the file name of the video. It does not create a description for the video. By adding effective titles and descriptions, you can help people find the videos that they want.

To add a title and description of a video, select the video to open its page , and then do the following:

  1. Add a video title. Below the video player, select the Edit Title button. Type a descriptive title for the video, and then select the Save button.

  2. Add a video description. Below the video player, select the Edit Description button. Type a useful description of the video, and then select the Save button.

Upload captions for videos in Office 365 Video

Captions help people who are deaf or have limited hearing to understand what's spoken and to be aware of the sounds in a video.

To upload captions for a video, select the video and then do the following:

  1. Select Manage > Subtitles or captions.

  2. In the Subtitles or captions pane, select Upload a new file.

  3. In the Upload a file pane, select the language for the captions, and then select Upload.

  4. In the Choose File to Upload dialog box, navigate to and select your caption file, and then select Open.
