Get started with a screen reader in Outlook on the web and Outlook.com

Notes:

  • We're always working to make Outlook on the web better. Our top priority is to make it easy to use, responsive, and accessible for people of all abilities.

  • We're committed to transparency and accountability, so we want you to know that an upgrade to Outlook on the web is happening now. These changes affect the articles (like this one) that we write to help people, so we're retiring all the existing articles about Outlook on the web. We wanted to let you know in case you need to update any links and avoid a frustrating "Page not found" message.

  • If you have requests for specific functionality, please suggest or vote at our Outlook on the web User Voice forum .

Navigate the feature areas in Outlook on the web

Outlook on the web lets you navigate by using Ctrl+F6 to skip from one feature to another, such as the Toolbar or the Inbox. No matter which feature you are in, you can press Ctrl+F6 to move to the top of the next feature.

CTRL+F6 cycles through the features in order, just like a Tab key moves to tab stops. The order of feature areas is: Office 365 app launcher, Search box, Folders navigation pane, Toolbar, Inbox, and Reading pane.

Keyboard shortcuts for Outlook on the web

For a list of all keyboard shortcuts in Outlook, you can type a question mark (?) from anywhere in the app. This opens a webpage that lists the shortcuts.
