Customize the format of data in a data graphic
Use the Data Format dialog box to customize the format of data for shapes that have a data graphic applied. You can change the data formats for text items and data bar items. For example, you can control the number of decimal places, choose a currency format, or choose a date format.
What is a data graphic?
A data graphic is a set of enhancements that you can apply to shapes to show data that the shapes contain. A data graphic presents your data as a combination of textual and visual elements, such as flags and progress bars.
-
In the Data Graphics task pane, right-click the data graphic that you want to change, and then click Edit Data Graphic.
-
In the Edit Data Graphic dialog box, do one of the following:
-
To create a new data item, click the New Item arrow, and then click either Text or Data Bar.
-
To edit an existing data item, click the item that you want to change, and then click Edit Item.
-
-
In the dialog box for the item that you chose, under Details, click Value Format.
-
In the Value Format box, click the ellipses (...).
-
In the Data Format dialog box, under Category, click the category that you want to customize, and then choose the options for that category.
Note: The options change depending on the selected category.
