Capture a picture of your Project plan

Capture a picture of your Project plan

You can capture a picture of your Microsoft Office Project plan to paste into another application or add to a Web page. This can be helpful in providing your plan to individuals who do not have Project installed.

  1. Select the view that displays the data that you want to capture in a picture.

  2. If you only want to capture a picture of certain rows displayed on your screen, select those rows.

    • To select a row, click the task or resource ID number of the row.

    • To select a group of adjacent rows, hold down SHIFT, and then click the first and last ID numbers of the group.

    • To select several nonadjacent rows, hold down CTRL, and then click the ID numbers. You can select up to 10 rows at one time.

  3. Click Copy Picture Button image .

  4. In the Copy Picture dialog box, in the Render image section, choose how you want to capture the picture:

    • For screen     Click For screen to capture the picture with a resolution that is best suited for viewing on a monitor.

    • For printer     Click For printer to capture the picture with a resolution that is best suited for printing.

    • To GIF image file     Click To GIF image file to save the picture as a GIF image file. Type the path where you want to save the image in the corresponding box, or click Browse to locate the folder.

  5. In the Copy section, click Rows on screen to capture the rows of data that are currently visible on your screen, or click Selected rows to capture only those rows that you have selected, including rows that are not currently visible on your screen.

The Copy section will not be available when capturing a picture of a view that does not use rows, such as the Calendar view, Network Diagram view, or Resource Graph view.

  6. In the Timescale section, click As shown on screen to capture the timescaled data as it appears on your screen, or click From and enter a start and end date for the time period that you want to capture.

The Timescale section will not be available when capturing a picture of a view that does not use timescaled data, such as the Calendar view, Network Diagram view, or Resource Sheet view.

    Notes:

    • If you clicked For screen or For printer, switch to the application where you want to display the captured picture, and then paste the picture by using the program's Paste command.

    • If your picture exceeds 22 inches by 22 inches (56 centimeters by 56 centimeters), you are prompted with options to adjust the size before displaying it in another program. The maximum internal limit for a picture is 340 inches wide (864 centimeters) by approximately 1000 tasks long.

    • If you have selected To GIF image file, and if your picture exceeds 100 inches by 100 inches (254 centimeters by 254 centimeters), you are prompted with options to reduce the size.
