Users
In the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 console tree, the Users node contains all users that have been enabled for Office Communications Server and have been successfully assigned to the pool. You can perform the following bulk actions on all users in a pool:
-
Configure users. Use the Configure Users Wizard to change user settings.
-
Delete users. Delete user information from Office Communications Server.
-
Find users. Locate an Office Communications Server user or set of users in the pool.
-
Move users. Change the pool or Standard Edition server on which the user is hosted.
When you perform these actions on the Users item in the console tree, the actions apply to all users in the pool. To perform these actions on an individual user, right-click the user in the details pane.

Configure users
After you initially configure your Office Communications Server environment in global properties or after you enable users for Office Communications Server, you can then refine settings by using the Configure users option. The settings you can configure include the following: federation, remote user access, public instant messaging (IM) connectivity, enhanced presence, IM archiving, anonymous participation in meetings, meeting policy, and Enterprise Voice.
If you enable federation for the forest, you can then specify that an individual user is either enabled or disabled for federation. If you configure archiving, meetings, or Enterprise Voice in global properties to use user settings, you can then configure archiving, meeting policy, and Voice settings on a per user basis.
Other settings, such as remote user access, access to public IM contacts, and enhanced presence, do not exist at the forest level and can only be configured on a per pool or per user basis.
Delete users
You can delete all information from the Office Communications Server back-end database for all users in a pool. The users that you delete from Office Communications Server are not removed from Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
Find user
You can search for a user in a pool by specifying the user's partial or full Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Uniform Resource Identifier (URI). Wildcards are allowed in a SIP URI search. You can also search for a user or a set of users by selecting from a number of advanced configuration settings that the user's properties include.
Move users
You can move all users from one pool to another. It is recommended that you move users if you will be removing the server or pool on which the users are hosted from the Office Communications Server environment.
Note: For details about moving users from Office Communications Server 2007 to Office Communications Server 2007 R2, see the Migration section of the Office Communications Server Technical Library.
