Turn off or change notifications and sounds in Outlook 2016 for Mac
When you receive a new email message, Outlook can notify you by displaying an alert on your desktop, or by bouncing the Outlook icon in the Dock. Outlook also plays sounds to notify you of new email messages, event reminders, and more.
Outlook uses a default set of sounds, but additional sound sets are available from third parties on the Internet. A sound set for Outlook is a folder that contains six sound files and a .plist file that maps each sound file to an Outlook event.
