You can trigger an animation effect to begin playing at the start of, or sometime during, an audio or video clip. You can also trigger an animation effect to start when you click the shape or other object that has the animation applied.
Inside this course:
Trigger an animation effect (2:29)
When you want to click a specific thing on a slide to start an animation effect, use a trigger. Triggers give you specific click points for controlling animation, and are especially useful when you want several effects on a slide.
Trigger multiple effects, including sound (3:42)
The purpose of a trigger is to start an effect, either an animation effect or a video or sound effect. So, before you can create a trigger, you need to first create or insert an effect.
Trigger a video (4:03)
A trigger gives you an advantage when you want to start a video. It enables you to play the video without having to click it to so do. You can pull the video off the slide, so it doesn't show before you play it. Then, you can set it to play full-screen, and use a trigger to start it.
Trigger text to play over a video (3:02)
In PowerPoint 2013, you can mark points in a video using bookmarks, and you can use these bookmarks to trigger effects. Watch this video to learn how.
