Format Gridlines dialog box

Use the Format Gridlines dialog box to review or modify the appearance and intervals of gridlines in a view. You can:

  • Change the line style, for example, solid or dashed, of selected gridlines in a view.

  • Modify the line color of selected gridlines in a view.

  • Specify gridline highlights at certain intervals, such as every fourth gridline.

Dialog box location

Display a view that uses gridlines, such as the Gantt Chart, Task Usage View, or Resource Sheet. On the Format menu, click Gridlines.

Details

Line to change box

Provides a list of gridlines available in the current view. Click the line whose formatting you want to change. The changes you make in the Normal and At interval sections apply to that selected line.

Normal section

Use this section to set the styles and colors for the gridline selected in the Line to change box.

Type    Specifies the style for the selected gridline. Styles include solid, dots, and dashes. For no line, select the first option, which is blank.

Color    Specifies the color for the selected gridline.

At interval section

Use this section to set a contrasting gridline to appear at an interval you set. Interval gridlines are not available for all types of gridlines.

None    Specifies that you don't want gridlines to appear.

2    Specifies that you want gridlines to appear on every second row or column.

3    Specifies that you want gridlines to appear on every third row or column.

4    Specifies that you want gridlines to appear on every fourth row or column.

Other    Specifies a custom interval. Click the Other option, and then type a number in the box to specify the interval for gridlines to appear.

Type    Specifies a line type for the interval gridline, for example, dots or dashes.

Color    Specifies a line color for the interval gridline.
