Crop a picture in OneNote 2016 for Windows
After you insert a picture into your notes, you might realize that it shows more than you want or need. For example, a photo you've taken with your cell phone might show too much background. Rather than trimming the picture, which you can't do in OneNote 2016, you can take a screen clipping of the image to capture just the part that you want to keep.
-
After inserting the picture you want to crop, click in a blank area of the page to make sure that the picture isn't selected.
-
Press the Windows logo key+Shift+S to start a screen clipping.
-
When the screen dims, drag a selection over just the part of the image that you want to keep.
-
When you release the mouse button, click the Copy to Clipboard button in the Select Location in OneNote dialog box that opens.
-
On any page in your notes, click where you want the screen clipping to appear, and then press Ctrl+V to paste it.
-
If the result looks good to you, you can delete the original picture from your notes.
