Remove Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010

You can disable Business Contact Manager for your Outlook profile only, or you can remove (uninstall) it from your computer.

If you disable Business Contact Manager for your profile, it will still be available to other users with Outlook profiles on the computer. For more information about profiles, see Overview of Outlook e-mail profiles.

To stop the Startup wizard from appearing each time you start Outlook, remove Business Contact Manager for Outlook.

Disable Business Contact Manager for your Outlook 2010 profile

If you have completed the Startup wizard without disabling Business Contact Manager for Outlook, complete one of the following procedures to disable Business Contact Manager for Outlook for your profile.

Disable Business Contact Manager by using Outlook 2010

You can disable Business Contact Manager for Outlook by going to the Backstage view or by disabling the Business Contact Manager for Outlook add-in.

Go to the Backstage view to disable Business Contact Manager for Outlook

  1. Click the File tab.

  2. Click the Business Contact Manager tab.

  3. Click Disable.

Disable Business Contact Manager by disabling the add-in

  1. Click the File tab.

  2. Click Options.

  3. In the Outlook Options dialog box, click Add-Ins.

  4. If it is not already selected in the Manage list, click COM Add-ins.

  5. Click Go.

  6. Clear the following check boxes:

    • Business Contact Manager for Outlook.

    • Business Contact Manager Loader for Outlook.

Disable Business Contact Manager by using Mail in Control Panel

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, click User Accounts, and then click Mail.

    Tip:  Mail is included in the User Accounts category in category view. If Control Panel is switched to the Classic view, click Mail.

  3. Click Data Files.

  4. On the Data Files tab, click Business Contact Manager, and then click Remove.

Remove Business Contact Manager from your computer

The steps involved in removing Business Contact Manager for Outlook from your computer vary depending on your version of Microsoft Windows.

Notes: 

  • Removing Business Contact Manager for Outlook does not remove Outlook 2010.

  • If the uninstall procedure does not complete successfully, try the previous procedure to disable Business Contact Manager for Outlook for your profile, and then try this procedure again.

Microsoft Windows XP

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.

  3. In the Currently installed programs and updates list, click Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010.

  4. Click Change/Remove, and then follow the instructions on your screen.

Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, in the Programs section, click Uninstall a program.

  3. Click Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Outlook 2010.

  4. Click Uninstall/Change, and then follow the instructions on your screen.
