Unassigned Users
In the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 console tree, the Unassigned users node contains all users that are enabled for Office Communications Server, but are not currently assigned to a valid Standard Edition server pool or Enterprise pool. If the server or pool that a user is assigned to is deactivated or removed from the Office Communications Server environment, the pool assignment becomes invalid and the user is added to the Unassigned users list. When users are not assigned to a server or pool, they cannot sign in using their Communications Server account.
You can perform the following bulk actions on all unassigned users:
-
Delete users. Delete user information from Office Communications Server.
-
Move users. Change user pool assignment.
When you perform these actions on the Unassigned users item in the console tree, the actions apply to all users under the item. To perform these actions on an individual user, right-click the user in the details pane.
Delete users
You can delete all Office Communications Server information for all unassigned users from the Office Communications Server back-end database. The users that you delete from Office Communications Server are not removed from Active Directory.
Move users
You can move all unassigned users to a pool to restore the users' connectivity to Office Communications Server. If you want to move unassigned users to different pools, you can move users individually or by clicking multiple users in the details pane.
