Set Video Device options
When you install Microsoft Lync 2010 communications software, it detects communications devices that are connected to your computer, including your webcam. You can also add or switch devices after you install Lync 2010. Although you need a webcam to make a video call, you don't need one to receive a video call.
If you're interested in webcams that are qualified for Lync, go to Phones and devices qualified for Microsoft Lync.
Note: To check that the webcam is working correctly, click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then click Device Manager from the list. Expand Imaging devices, and you should see your webcam if it is installed correctly, and a device status that indicates if it's working OK.
-
Open Lync, click the Options button , and then click Video Device. If your camera is correctly connected to your computer, the video picture is displayed. If you have another program open, such as your webcam program, you won't see the video picture until you close that program.
-
If you have more than one video device and want to switch, select it from the drop-down list. If you have only one device connected, that's all that is displayed in the drop-down list.
-
To adjust any settings, including color balance, contrast, and brightness, and black-and-white mode, click the Webcam Settings button. Click OK when complete.
