Reading an item in a Lists tool

Double-click any item in a Lists tool to open it for reading.

Depending on the layout of the current list view, you can also read items in a preview area without opening them.

To change the layout of the current list view, on the View tab, click Reading Pane, and then click the option you want. You can also widen or narrow the preview area by dragging the window splitter.

Some Lists tools contain form views, which allow you to display the item with a different set of fields in a different layout. To change a form view, on the View tab, click the Form View drop-down menu and then click the form view you want.
