Add a new account

When you first start OneNote for Windows 10, you're prompted to sign in with your preferred Microsoft account. You can add additional accounts at any time and then open notebooks from these accounts.

Do the following:

  1. Click the Settings and More button Settings And More Button located in the top right corner, and then click Settings.

  2. In the Settings pane, click or tap Accounts.

  3. In the Accounts window, click or tap + Add account.

  4. Select the type of account you want to add to OneNote.

    • Select Microsoft account to add an additional Hotmail, Live.com, or Outlook.com account.

    • Select Work or school account to add an organizational account.

  5. Enter your username and password for the account you selected, and then follow the prompts to sign in.

Repeat the preceding steps for each additional account that you want to use with OneNote. As soon as you're signed into all of the accounts you want, you can open your notebooks from these accounts.
