Format Picture dialog box (Image Control tab)
Use this tab to adjust the appearance of the selected image objects in your drawing.
Balance
Brightness
Sets the brightness (amount of black or white added to the colors). The higher the percentage, the lighter (more white) the colors in the picture. The lower the percentage, the darker (more black) the colors. Drag the slider or type a percentage in the box.
Contrast
Sets the contrast (the degree of difference between the lightest and darkest parts of the picture). The higher the percentage, the more intense the colors in the picture. The lower the percentage, the more similar the colors.
Gamma
Adjusts the gray levels (midtones). The higher the number, the lighter the midtones. Adjusting the gamma setting produces an effect that is similar to adjusting the brightness, but tends to bring out more detail in the shadows. Some devices, such as scanners and digital cameras, have a characteristic device gamma that you can adjust using this option.
AutoBalance
Automatically adjusts the brightness, contrast, and gamma settings for the selected picture.
Effects
Transparency
Sets the transparency. Zero percent is completely opaque, and 100 percent is completely transparent.
Blur
Softens hard edges or areas to reduce detail. The higher the percentage, the softer the picture.
Sharpen
Sharpens soft edges to increase clarity or focus. The higher the percentage, the sharper the picture.
Denoise
Removes noise (speckling), which tends to blend areas of the picture. The higher the percentage, the less noise in the picture. Use this option to reduce the noise that might appear in scanned images or images received through wireless transmissions.
Preview
