Import email addresses into Junk Email Filter Lists
If you have existing lists of email addresses that you want the Junk Email Filter to use for evaluating incoming email messages, you can import those lists into Microsoft Outlook 2010.
Note: Each list must be a plain text (.txt) file and contain one entry per line.
-
In Mail, on the Home tab, in the Delete group, click Junk, and then click Junk E-mail Options.
-
On the Safe Senders, Safe Recipients, or Blocked Senders tab, click Import from File.
-
In the Look in list, select the text file that you want to import, and then click Open.
Repeat these steps for each file that you want to import.
If you used rules or filters in an earlier version of Outlook to move, delete, or color code junk messages, or if you customized or made exceptions to the Junk Senders List, then you can import those changes into Outlook by using the steps in this article. The file names are as follows:
-
Adult Content Senders.txt
-
Junk Senders.txt
-
Exception List.txt
These files can be found at these locations:
-
Windows 7
C:\Users\User name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
-
Windows Vista
C:\Users\User name\AppData\Microsoft\Outlook
-
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
