A/V Edge Server

Use this dialog box to configure the settings for the external and internal interface of the A/V Edge Server.

External Interface

The IP address and port used for the external interface of the A/V Edge Server for A/V sessions with external users, which includes sharing content for audio/video conferences, participating in point-to-point calls with external users, and desktop sharing with external users.

IP address

The IP address used by the external interface of the A/V Edge Server. External users connect to this IP address to participate in audio/video sessions.

FQDN

The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the external interface of the A/V Edge Server.

TCP port

The port used for TCP traffic on the external interface of the A/V Edge Server. External or remote users connect to this IP address and port to participate in audio/video sessions in your organization. The default port is 443.

Media port range

The range of ports available on the external interface of the A/V Edge Server for Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) media. The default is 50000 to 59999.

External IP address is translated by NAT

Select this check box if you have configured your external firewall as a network address translator (NAT).

Internal Ports

The ports on the internal interface of the A/V Edge Server.

TCP port

The port used for TCP traffic on the internal interface of the A/V Edge Server. Internal servers connect to this IP address and port to send outbound audio/video traffic. The default port is 443.

A/V authentication port

The port used for authentication of users participating in external A/V sessions. The default port is 5062.

Important:  If you change this port setting, make a corresponding change in the internal network by using the Office Communications Server Administrative Tools snap-in and changing the information on the Edge Interfaces tab of Global Properties of the forest node.

A/V authentication certificate

The certificate used for authentication of audio/video traffic in external audio/video sessions.

Select certificate

Click to assign a certificate for A/V authentication.

Note: You can also use the Certificate Wizard to guide you through the process of configuring the certificate.
